Sparta, TN Full-time Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook to join our clients team in Sparta, TN. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a commercial kitchen and be skilled in food preparation, kitchen organization, and maintaining food safety standards. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and takes pride in supporting a successful kitchen operation. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients for daily food production, including chopping, slicing, portioning, and measuring. Follow recipes and preparation guidelines accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas. Receive, label, and properly store food deliveries. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Assist line cooks and kitchen staff as needed during service. Monitor food quality and report any concerns to kitchen management. Help with opening and closing kitchen duties. Qualifications Previous experience as a Prep Cook or similar position in a commercial kitchen required. Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Dependable, team-oriented, and punctual.
