Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct intake assessments and screenings to identify the mental health needs of students, ensuring that tailored treatment plans are developed to address their specific concerns. \n
- Provide short-term individual counseling sessions to students facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, and family dynamics, employing evidence-based practices and brief therapy methodologies. \n
- Facilitate therapy groups and workshops that cover relevant topics, such as stress management, healthy relationships, and coping strategies, to promote comprehensive student development. \n
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders, including academic advisors and student organizations, to enhance support systems for students and to create a holistic approach to student wellness. \n
- Engage in outreach activities that promote mental health awareness among students, including organizing wellness events and contributing to educational campaigns. \n
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and organized client records according to ethical and legal standards, ensuring continuous monitoring of treatment effectiveness. \n
You will primarily work with a diverse population of students, each facing unique challenges during their academic journey. Understanding the complex dynamics of student life is key, as many may struggle with transitional issues, academic pressures, or personal crises. Your role will be crucial in creating a safe space for them to express their emotions, seek guidance, and work towards personal growth.
Qualifications\n- \n
- Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). \n
- A master’s or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. \n
- Demonstrated knowledge of the mental health issues commonly faced by college students, along with an understanding of best practices within a university counseling environment. \n
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective engagement with students and collaboration with a diverse academic community. \n
- Familiarity with evidence-based psychotherapy approaches suitable for brief therapy sessions in a university setting. \n
- Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. \n
Experience working in a school or university counseling center is preferred. Candidates with a background in facilitating group therapy sessions or delivering mental health education programs will be particularly advantageous. Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and digital health technologies is also a plus, as our center embraces innovative approaches to mental health service delivery.
