Specimen Processor - Temporary
Veracyte
Veracyte seeks a Specimen Processor for a temporary three-month role in South San Francisco. The position involves receiving and processing clinical specimens, managing laboratory documentation, performing data entry, and maintaining lab cleanliness and organization.
Responsibilities
- Receive, accession, and verify clinical specimens; enter data into LIS system
- Label, track, and manage specimen documentation and related clerical tasks
- Monitor specimen quality and identify processing issues; notify supervisor immediately
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, stock supplies, and organize work areas
- Support regulatory compliance, training activities, and cross-functional communication with Customer Care
Requirements
- Knowledge of sample integrity and specimen handling protocols
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Understanding of compliance regulations related to test ordering
- Ability to identify and report specimen processing problems
- Flexibility with scheduling including weekends and holidays
- Willingness to participate in training and competency assessments
