DevOps Engineer

This position can be based in our Bellevue, WA office, or can be remote based anywhere in the US. Role Our DevOps Engineers focus on creating, improving, and maintaining Advata’s software and delivery systems to help each engineering team’s productivity. They work closely with members of other teams to improve their CI/CD workflows in order to help consistently deploy code across various different environments. They ensure infrastructure for each given customer is deployed in a consistent, repeatable, and automated fashion. They help troubleshoot problems and update pipelines to make sure similar issues are prevented in the future. Responsibilities Build tools and pipelines to support data scientists, customer operations, and peer product engineering teams Help foster and establish DevOps culture and methodologies across multiple teams Solve exciting challenges creating processing systems that unify both batch and streaming paradigms in Microsoft Azure and hybrid-cloud environments AUTOMATE EVERYTHING!.. within reason Requirements/Qualifications BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree is required 1+ years DevOps experience Experience with Terraform both locally and in deployment pipelines Solid foundation/understanding of GitOps workflows Experience with Kubernetes and any tools built around operationalizing it at scale (Helm, Flux, etc) Experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure preferred) Experience with Azure DevOps/Azure Pipelines or equivalent CI/CD tools Experience developing and deploying services or code in a production environment Comfortable with one or more scripting languages preferred Experience working with other teams to understand pain points and ways they can be addressed through automation or other processes (specifically data scientists and algorithm developers is a big plus) Experience deploying data pipelines that span traditional analytics, operational analytics (to support real-time decision making) and online production model scoring is a plus Certifications related to DevOps, Administration, Architecture a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in the creation and maintenance of documentation Demonstrated track record of exceptional individual performance in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently but also thrives in highly integrated team environments Strong attention to details, with a bias toward pragmatic solutions that can be improved over time Advata is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
