Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown in an acute care hospital setting with Level II Trauma designation Adult and geriatric patient population including cardiac, nephrology, stroke, diabetes management, and continuous EEG monitoring RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5 with CNA/patient care tech support at a 1:10 ratio RNs are required to titrate drips, including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications Continuous EEG monitoring is performed on this unit Charge nurse present on each shift 35-bed unit 12-hour night shifts (1830–0700) Every other weekend required Every third holiday required No on-call or standby requirement Floating required to medical floors, ICU, or rehab Epic EMR used in this position Requirements Active NE or Compact (NLC) RN license required — pending licenses will not be accepted Active certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS — pending certifications will not be accepted Minimum 2 years of RN experience required BSN not required Driver's license required for consideration, used to verify permanent address is outside the 50-mile radius 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Additional Information Fast-paced unit where success is supported by a positive attitude, strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Orientation consists of first-week onboarding followed by 1–2 days of floor-specific orientation A pass/fail open-book exam on unit skills is administered during orientation — a minimum score of 90% is required to pass; failure may result in contract termination Artificial nails are strictly prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove them may result to contract termination Candidates may not currently be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Candidates who were previously directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible RTO requests (7 days or fewer per 13-week contract) must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after that point 13-week contract Pay & Benefits Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined. #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
