Job Title: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Permanent RN license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Charge experience preferred Description: The position is for a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse on a children's unit. The unit provides rapid assessment and stabilization for children ages 5 to 13. The role involves working with children requiring inpatient care for safety and structure due to the severity of their condition. Nursing staff may be required to work as the charge RN during shifts, without a pay bump for those hours. Patient diagnoses include ADHD, depression, generalized anxiety, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, trauma, and conduct disorder. The unit has a total of 20 beds with a daily census averaging 16 patients. Interdisciplinary support service is available, including interpretation services, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary. All nurses are expected to float across various age populations as scheduling requires. Drug screening is mandatory, and candidates must pass on the first attempt. The facility does not accept medical marijuana cards.
