Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Therapist to join our mental health and behavioral health team. The Clinical Therapist will provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a deep understanding of mental health disorders, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through empathetic care and innovative treatment approaches.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including intake interviews and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards.
• Develop personalized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.
• Provide individual, group, family, or couples therapy utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
• Offer crisis intervention and crisis management to patients experiencing acute mental health issues or trauma.
• Manage behavioral health cases for patients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, or other specialized needs.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical professionals, social workers, educators, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to extend services remotely when appropriate.
• Stay current with research developments in mental health treatment and incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical work.
• Engage in case management activities to ensure continuity of care and support patient progress over time.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions related to clinical research, ICD coding updates, CPT coding, and new therapeutic techniques.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field; licensure or certification as required by state regulations.
• Proven experience in mental health counseling with diverse populations; experience with children & family counseling highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, behavior management strategies, and crisis intervention techniques.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation standards such as ICD-9/ICD-10 codes and CPT coding.
• Experience working with special populations such as individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, geriatrics, or those requiring special education services.
• Competence in managing complex cases involving trauma (PTSD), gender issues counseling, chronic pain management, or inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Ability to work effectively within HIPAA guidelines ensuring confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and engage patients compassionately.
