\n The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Childrens Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Fellowship-trained Anesthesiologist with a specialty in cardiac anesthesia to join our perioperative team. The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology provides care to more than 30,000 children annually in perioperative anesthesia, critical care, and pain medicine settings. Our pediatric anesthesiologists practice in a collaborative and supportive environment with world-class surgical and medical staff to provide opportunities for developing clinical excellence in a range of subspecialty services, that are integral in the academic, research, educational, and quality improvement missions of the institutions.

\n Opportunity with Pediatric Anesthesiology \n

\n
• Join an anesthesia service that currently consists of 35 pediatric anesthesiologists with 8 of those specializing in cardiac care, and 12 advanced practice providers that practice at both CWs Milwaukee Campus and regional sites surrounding Milwaukee.
\n
• Our group of dedicated pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists works exclusively in the cardiac care setting: providing care for 400+ heart surgeries, and 350+ cardiac catheterization procedures annually.
\n
• Comprehensive pediatric cardiac care within the Herma Heart Institute (HHI), part of the Forward Pediatric Alliance with UW-Health. Patient populations encompass the spectrum of critical congenital heart disease from hypoplastic left heart syndrome, adult congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac transplantation and ventricular assist devices.

• Dedicated 24 bed CVICU with full time, in-house, cardiac intensivist coverage.
\n
• Engage in state-of-the-art innovative research and quality programs supported by the broader HHI and FPA.
\n
• Engage in a busy practice that includes both OR as well as non-OR sites at CWs Milwaukee Campus with a team of fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists and a growing team of medically directed Anesthesiology Assistants and Certified Registered Nursing Assistants.

• Provide leadership and guidance to cardiac and perioperative team members to optimize patient care safety, quality, and efficiency
\n
• Contribute to the clinical education of pediatric fellows, residents, medical students and other trainees
\n
• Focus on a patient-centered approach to delivery of care and engage in a climate of inquiry and safety
\n
• Participate in the academic, research and educational missions of the institution
\n
• Build positive relationships with surgeons, proceduralists, nurses, technicians and other stakeholders

Childrens Wisconsin and Childrens Specialty Group

Childrens Wisconsin is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The hospital, with locations in Milwaukee and Northeast Wisconsin, is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. Childrens Wisconsin provides primary care, urgent care, emergency care, specialty care, mental and behavioral health services, community health services, foster and adoption services, child advocacy services and health insurance plans. Each year, the Childrens Wisconsin team has more than 6.5 million touchpoints with kids and families through medical care, advocacy, research and education. Childrens and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin the Childrens Specialty Group (CSG) - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state, serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Childrens Surgery Verification Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, 72-bed Level IV NICU, Level IV Epilepsy Center, and a 72-bed PICU. In 2021-2022, CW and CSG had six specialties ranked by US News & World Report : cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and pulmonology.  With over 70 specialties and 675 providers, CSG providers had 220,000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites, 67,000 emergency department/trauma center visits, and over 9,000 admissions.
