Job Opportunity Our claims professionals are integral to our business. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our growing team in Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, or New York. This position offers an excellent opportunity for practicing lawyers looking to transition out of a firm, as well as claim professionals with healthcare claims experience or equivalent. Duties & Responsibilities Manage and adjust healthcare claims affecting primary, umbrella, and excess policies while ensuring high customer service and technical claim file quality. Proactively handle claims from first notice of loss through ultimate resolution, working with and advising internal partners and meeting with clients and brokers. Collaborate with insureds, brokers, and TPAs to manage and adjudicate claims. Analyze and draft coverage letters and communicate coverage positions effectively. Coordinate investigations and ensure timely resolution of claims. Direct and monitor assignments to experts and defense counsel as necessary. Evaluate coverage, liability, and damages to determine exposure to the insured and the company. Draft reports, set reserves within authority, or recommend reserve changes. Travel to conferences, mediations, and trials as required. Qualifications, Skills and Experience High degree of specialized and technical competence in claims handling. 5-10+ years of healthcare claim handling experience or equivalent. College degree required; JD preferred. Ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials from various sources. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Strong teamwork and multitasking capabilities. Experience handling and adjusting claims in multiple jurisdictions and willingness to obtain required licenses.
