Charge Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Charge Nurse to provide clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care. The Charge Nurse is responsible for supervising nursing staff, coordinating daily operations, administering medications and treatments, and maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants during assigned shifts.

  • Coordinate resident care to ensure quality, safety, and continuity.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and assessments according to physician orders.

  • Respond promptly to changes in resident condition and initiate appropriate interventions.

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.

  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.

  • Mentor, coach, and educate nursing staff.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote a positive team environment.

Qualifications
  • Current RN or LPN license in good standing.

  • Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or assisted living preferred.

  • Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.

  • Strong assessment, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • CPR certification required.
