Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Performs quality diagnostic general and cardiac nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures in accordance with standards set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). This position works within the interdisciplinary team to provide safe and personalized care for patients.
Essential Duties
- Performs high quality PET/CT scan procedures to support accurate diagnosis while maintaining high quality patient care.
- Performs IV injections for all nuclear medicine and PET/CT scan procedures.
- Performs high quality general nuclear medicine procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
- Performs high quality cardiac nuclear medicine procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
- Follows all radiation safety practices and protocols for all nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures.
- Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
- Post processes all nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
- Uses hospital information systems proficiently including EMR, scheduling, RIS and PACS software applications.
Other Duties
Performs as back-up to staff absences and vacancies, as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine program required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Work Experience: One (1) year of experience working in general and cardiac nuclear medicine preferred. One (1) year of PET/CT experience preferred.
- Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Current R.T. (NM) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required. Current CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider certification required. If the ARRT certification was obtained prior to 2000 under special eligibility provision, graduation from an accredited program is not required.
