Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Performs quality diagnostic general and cardiac nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures in accordance with standards set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). This position works within the interdisciplinary team to provide safe and personalized care for patients.

Essential Duties

1. Performs high quality PET/CT scan procedures to support accurate diagnosis while maintaining high quality patient care.
2. Performs IV injections for all nuclear medicine and PET/CT scan procedures.
3. Performs high quality general nuclear medicine procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
4. Performs high quality cardiac nuclear medicine procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
5. Follows all radiation safety practices and protocols for all nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures.
6. Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
7. Post processes all nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
8. Uses hospital information systems proficiently including EMR, scheduling, RIS and PACS software applications.

Other Duties

Performs as back-up to staff absences and vacancies, as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Education: Successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine program required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
2. Work Experience: One (1) year of experience working in general and cardiac nuclear medicine preferred. One (1) year of PET/CT experience preferred.
3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Current R.T. (NM) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required. Current CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider certification required. If the ARRT certification was obtained prior to 2000 under special eligibility provision, graduation from an accredited program is not required.

Salary Range

$42.00 - $56.28
