Cafe Operations Specialist

Eataly's bustling marketplaces contain a variety of quick service counters featuring coffee and drinks, pastries and gelato, pizza and focaccia, paninis and grab-and-go meal options. The QSR Specialist assists with the day-to-day operations of the QSR counters. Reports to the QSR General Manager and the QSR Assistant General Managers.

Provides service across all QSR counters, ensuring the team consistently meets high standards of hospitality. Sets up stations and replenishes displays neatly including separation of allergens (nuts, wheat, etc.). Ensures all items are dated and following First in First Out (FIFO) standards. Manages transactions and ensures accurate accounting. Prepares necessary collateral, weighs, labels, packages and serves products. Supports, motivates, guides, educates and mentors team members. Monitors inventory, checks orders and distributes supplies as needed throughout the department. Ensures department complies with all quality, health, safety and sanitation standards. Documents, investigates, resolves and escalates guest incidents. Assists with administrative duties as needed. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary degree preferred. 1+ year of lead or supervisory experience in food service. Basic math skills and ability to handle money accurately. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of coffee and coffee production. Knowledge of Italian cuisine and beverage preferred.

Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting. Ability to operate equipment such as manual espresso machine, drink blender, juicer and cash register.

Compensation: Pay rate is $15 an hour plus tips.
