Social Worker LCSW

Summary Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director/Unit Chief, provides comprehensive clinical services as part of a multi‑disciplinary team. This role includes the evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with a wide range of psychiatric and physical/environmental stressors using a full range of psychiatric therapeutic interventions, including evaluations, and individual, family, and group psychotherapy. The individual also reports to the Clinical Director of Social Work and Counseling regarding professional standards, regulatory and licensing requirements, credentials/privileges, and continuing education. Responsibilities Provide individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and mental health evaluations. Participate in treatment planning to set therapeutic goals in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Participate in the execution of treatment plan goals as they pertain to the therapeutic aspects of patient and family care. Complete all required documentation professionally and in a timely manner. Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families/guardians regarding diagnosis, treatment interventions, and recommendations. Provide clinical case management to coordinate and collaborate in care with the multidisciplinary team and community supports (schools, therapists, physicians, etc.) for assessment, communication, and after‑care planning. Participate in service‑related meetings, including team meetings, rounds, clinical conferences, community meetings, staff meetings, and in‑service sessions. May participate in research or other specialized activities as arranged with the supervisor. Attend Social Work and Counseling Department staff meetings and meet all related responsibilities. Demonstrate conduct that exemplifies the professional Code of Ethics. Attend weekly supervision to work toward independent licensure. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in any human services field (social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology) from an accredited graduate school. Current license from the State of Rhode Island (LCSW, LMHC‑A). Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the lifespan, considering aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns. Significant experience and/or training working with children, adolescents, and families.
