The Courtesy Clerk is responsible for ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers by providing friendly, efficient, and helpful service. This includes bagging groceries, assisting customers with their purchases, maintaining store cleanliness, and performing a variety of customer service and support tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Greeting customers warmly and assisting in a variety of areas as needed.
• Bagging groceries quickly and carefully, following best practices for bagging items safely.
• Assisting customers with carrying bags and loading groceries into their vehicles when requested.
• Returning shopping carts from the parking lot to the store.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the front end, restrooms, and store entryways.
• Cleaning up spills and reporting safety hazards to management immediately.
• Stocking bags and other supplies at registers.
• Helping with retrieving or restocking products as needed.
• Responding to customer questions or directing them to appropriate store personnel.
• Supporting cashiers and other store departments as requested.
• Following store policies and procedures, including those related to safety and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing, and helpful attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Basic physical ability: able to stand for extended periods, ability to lift up to 30 pounds, and push/pull carts.
• Punctual and reliable attendance.
• Must be at least 16 years old (based on store policy or legal requirements).

Environment:

• Primarily work indoors but may spend time outside retrieving carts or assisting customers.
• May be exposed to various weather conditions.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
