Supply Chain Safety Manager

Position Mission The Corporate Safety Manager is responsible for supporting Corporate HSE program and systems. The Corporate Safety Manager will support the Director of Safety in continuously promote and maintain a proactive, collaborative compliance culture in the company while maintaining efficiency, safety, and the wellbeing of our employees. Position Performance Measures Perform Quarterly site Safety Audit Conduct Annual Hazard Assessments Monthly review and analysis of loss runs and accident reports Conduct weekly housekeeping assessments Develop facility Job Safety Analysis Ensure monthly safety meetings are completed Ensure monthly safety meetings are held and minutes distributed. Responsibilities Provide active leadership and support to implement safety initiatives and projects. Promote a safety culture of compliance and commitment. In alignment with corporate programs, assist sites with reviewing, developing, and implementing company safety procedures and standards. Provide facilitation, consultation, and support to management teams on safety initiatives. Assist in preparing the departmental budget, monitor spending, and direct the team in cost-effective operation. Perform job hazard assessments and recommend measures to control exposures, personal protective equipment (PPE), work practices changes, and engineering controls. Observe employees while engaged in work activities to recognize safe work habits and coach for improvement as needed. Apply creative, constructive approaches to improve controls, processes, and procedures. In the event of an accident, ensure appropriate countermeasures are correctly identified to prevent reoccurrence utilizing a robust incident investigation process, including a 5-Why root cause analysis. Conduct site visits to evaluate compliance with program requirements. Interface with leadership and subject matter experts to identify and develop training content and materials. Provide support for completing quarterly safety audits, site inspections, and regulatory agency inspections. Audit recordkeeping practices and entries to ensure compliance with USAG standards and regulations. Assist with site-specific programs such as Hazardous Waste disposal, Hearing Conservation Programs, etc. Provide support for significant safety emergency response incidents. Compile, analyze, interpret environmental, health, and safety misses, including OSHA Recordable accidents, loss, and exposure data. Work with local operations management team on environmental, health, and safety incidents, ensuring that all reports and decisions are correctly made. Communicate with the corporate office to ensure facility alignment with Company policies, procedures, and OSHA and other compliance regulations. Partner with Human Resources to manage workers' compensation claims. Participate in projects, support USAG safety needs, and other duties as assigned. What You’ll Do Operations Safety Leadership Lead risk assessments and hazard identification (JHA/JSA) and ensure effective controls using the hierarchy of controls. Conduct inspections, safety walks, and targeted audits; drive corrective actions to completion and verify effectiveness. Lead incident/near-miss/property damage investigations using strong RCA methods (e.g., 5-Why, fishbone) and implement sustainable fixes. Support emergency preparedness, hazard communication, contractor safety, and safety committee engagement. Own safety and compliance outcomes for operations while partnering closely with Transportation/Fleet leaders. Build field-ready SOPs and written programs that make expectations easy to follow and easy to audit. Use data, audits, and observations to prevent injuries and fleet incidents before they happen. Contribute to technology-enabled safety (robotics/automation, EHS platforms, telematics) where applicable. Fleet Safety Compliance Support Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and ELD/non‑ELD processes where applicable; provide practical field guidance and training. Partner with Transportation/Fleet leaders and vendors to prepare for audits/inspections, respond to findings, and close corrective actions. Support post-incident processes, including reporting and testing workflows where applicable (drug & alcohol program coordination as required). SOP & Written Program Development Develop, refresh, and maintain SOPs and written programs (e.g., PIT, LOTO, machine guarding, HazCom, fall protection, ergonomics/strain prevention, EAP). Create tools that work in the field—checklists, job aids, training outlines, and verification steps. Maintain document control: versioning, review cadence, approvals, and audit readiness. Robotics/Automation & Technology (Plus) Partner with Engineering/Operations on risk assessments for automation, robotics, conveyors, and material handling systems. Support guarding, interlocks, safe access, and LOTO procedures for automated systems; help validate operator/maintenance training. Use technology to improve visibility (digital inspections, dashboards, EHS systems, telematics/camera insights) and drive action. Metrics & Continuous Improvement Track and communicate performance using leading and lagging indicators (TRIR/DART, severity, near misses, audit completion, corrective action closure, fleet incident trends). Prepare leadership-ready updates and recommend prioritized actions based on risk and data trends. Experience, Education, and Abilities Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Safety & Health, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline or equivalent experience. 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment employing 250+ employees preferred. Strong understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulations. Ability to plan and execute events, safety meetings, accident review meetings, and safety rewards initiatives. Proven ability to communicate efficiently and influence various individuals and groups across organizational lines is required. Able to effectively manage time, priorities, and resources. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment. Self-Starter with the ability to be approachable and work well within a team setting. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Basic English skills, including reading, speaking, and writing. Spanish and Vietnamese a plus. Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or similar programs. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Corporate office setting. Periodic standing/walking in unairconditioned warehouse facilities and retail stores. Exposed to vibrations and dust, with noise levels at moderate to low decibels. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly required to use hands and fingers and handle or feel objects. Other physical tasks required include pushing, reaching, climbing, and stooping. Ability to travel throughout the facility as required to conduct safety inspections. Must be able to travel throughout North America up to 50% of the time.
