Position: Dog Daycare & Boarding Assistant Location: The Dog Chateau, Glenville, NY Job Type: Part-time or Full-time Expected Hours: 15–40 hours per week Hourly Pay: $18–$20 per hour Key Responsibilities: Ensure the safety, structure, and positive social dynamics of all dogs in a supervised pack environment Lead structured off-leash pack walks and outdoor adventures across our 11 fenced-in acres Facilitate enrichment-based activities that support mental stimulation, confidence, and healthy behavior Monitor and assess canine body language, behavior, and group interactions, proactively preventing and addressing issues Provide individualized care and attention, adapting to each dog’s temperament, energy level, and needs Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment across all indoor and outdoor spaces to the highest standards Support feeding routines, medication administration, and daily wellness checks with attention to detail Deliver an exceptional client experience Assist in creating a calm, structured, and enriching daily flow, balancing play, rest, and activity Collaborate with team members to uphold The Dog Chateau’s standards of excellence, safety, and care Qualifications: Genuine passion for dogs and a strong commitment to their safety, well-being, and enrichment Hands-on experience working with dogs in a daycare, boarding, training, shelter, or similar environment Strong understanding of canine behavior, body language, and pack dynamics Ability to confidently handle dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels Experience with or interest in basic obedience training and behavior reinforcement Ability to remain calm, observant, and proactive in a fast-paced, group-play environment Strong work ethic with a high level of responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail Physically capable of standing, walking, and working outdoors for extended periods, including multiple structured pack walks daily Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks safely Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a professional, client-focused mindset Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Pet First Aid/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain—company-sponsored training provided) Benefits: Competitive hourly pay ($18–$20/hour) 401K with 3% employer match for both part-time and full-time team members after 90 days Hands-on experience in a structured, enrichment-based environment focused on canine behavior and pack dynamics Ongoing training and professional development opportunities, including exposure to socialization and obedience work Employee discounts on services Opportunity to bring your dog to work with free daycare (pending successful evaluation) Work in a beautiful, nature-based setting with 11 fenced-in acres and expansive indoor space Be part of a supportive, team-oriented culture that values excellence, accountability, and growth Meaningful, purpose-driven work making a direct impact on the well-being of dogs and the community Our Mission: To care for every dog like family—enriching their lives and well-being through expert care, love, and compassion in a nature-based setting where they experience new adventures each day and truly thrive.
