Contract Pharmacist- Pharmacist in Charge

Dependable Staffing Services | Arizona

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Dependable Staffing Services is currently seeking licensed Pharmacists for a contract opportunity with one of our valued healthcare clients in Arizona. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule and the opportunity to provide essential pharmaceutical care while serving as the sole on-site pharmacy professional during business hours.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. New graduates from accredited pharmacy programs are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescription medications in accordance with physician orders and applicable regulations.
• Evaluate medication therapies for appropriateness, potential drug interactions, contraindications, and therapeutic effectiveness.
• Provide medication counseling and educate patients on proper usage, dosage, storage, and potential side effects.
• Assess patient concerns and symptoms, offering guidance and referrals to healthcare providers when appropriate.
• Administer immunizations and support wellness initiatives, including basic health screenings and monitoring services.
• Maintain accurate patient profiles, medication records, and pharmacy documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards.
• Manage controlled substance inventory, documentation, and recordkeeping requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels and remove expired, damaged, or recalled medications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
• Support daily pharmacy operations and complete additional administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Active Arizona Pharmacist License in good standing.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
• Previous pharmacist experience preferred; recent graduates are welcome to apply.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication therapy management, dosage calculations, and pharmaceutical products.
• Experience with pharmacy management systems and electronic recordkeeping platforms.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as the sole pharmacist on duty.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry best practices.
