GIS IT Analyst

Position Summary

Performs skilled and technical duties of a technical GIS analyst on complex projects with application of principles and techniques, planning, developing, implementing, maintaining, and administering GIS applications and systems.

Responsibilities

\n
• Prepare, design, and produce a variety of GIS products and other graphic representations displaying layers and data from the TPU GIS platform.
\n
• Develop and maintain GIS data layers, using GIS tools and databases.
\n
• Document TPU GIS platform security, backup, disaster recovery and related processes.
\n
• Perform QA/QC of GIS products built by 3rd party vendors.
\n
• Design and build GIS performance monitoring dashboards, alerts, and messaging.
\n
• Work with Subject Matter Experts from all TPU Divisions and work groups to perform software upgrades and perform functional tool testing.
\n
• Support cutover activities for the deployment of the new GIS platform, Pro Project templates, Python automations and FME workbenches and other GIS applications.
\n
• Coordinating, facilitating, or performing the installations of ESRI related software, hardware, GIS tools/interfaces or related data and applications.
\n
• Assist with decommissioning of Smallworld servers and related infrastructure.
\n
• Other GIS services or activities identified to support the scope from all destinations identified within by the GIS Modernization project.
\n

Required Skills

\n
• Experience with GIS platforms and applications
\n
• GIS data maintenance and management
\n
• GIS data validation and quality assurance (QA/QC)
\n
• Experience analyzing and troubleshooting GIS-related issues
\n
• Understanding of geospatial data, mapping systems, and GIS workflows
\n
• Experience supporting GIS users and business stakeholders
\n
• Requirements gathering and documentation
\n
• User acceptance testing (UAT) and system testing
\n
• GIS reporting, dashboards, and data analysis
\n
• Technical documentation and end-user training
\n

Nice-to-Have Skills

\n
• Experience with ESRI/ArcGIS products
\n
• Experience with GIS data migration or system implementations
\n
• Familiarity with utility-related GIS environments
\n
• SQL or database querying experience
\n
• Experience working with third-party GIS vendors
\n
• Process improvement and workflow optimization experience
\n
• Experience supporting GIS application upgrades or enhancements
\n
• Knowledge of GIS integrations with other business systems
\n
