Working Supervisor (Hands‑On) – Coatings & Exterior Services Benefits 401(k) matching Opportunity for advancement Training & development Competitive pay Health benefits, PTO, and 401K match Opportunity to grow into higher leadership roles A team that values work ethic, ownership, and results What You’ll Do Work in the field daily (painting, waterproofing, sealants, coatings, exterior cleaning) Lead and direct crews while actively working; supervise subcontractors and hold them to standards Perform field estimating and identify change orders/opportunities Own jobsite results: quality, production, safety, and schedule Actively perform daily work including interior and exterior painting, waterproofing systems, sealant and caulking installation, protective coatings, pressure washing and surface preparation Operate lifts, sprayers, pressure washers, and other equipment Ensure surfaces are properly prepared, applications meet manufacturer specifications Step in wherever needed to keep the job moving efficiently Direct the crew while actively working, assign tasks, adjust workflow in real time, train team members by hands‑on instruction, and hold them accountable to performance and quality standards Inspect work continuously, correct issues immediately, and ensure all work meets company standards and project specifications Enforce safety standards, model proper PPE usage, identify hazards and address them immediately Work with Project Managers to execute schedules and scope, communicate progress, and help keep projects on schedule Complete daily reports, time tracking, and material usage; assist with material planning and inventory What This Role Is NOT Passive supervision; not a position where you observe more than you work Not suited for someone unwilling to stay physically engaged throughout the day Qualifications Required 5+ years hands‑on experience in painting, coatings, waterproofing, or related trades Proven ability to perform work and lead others doing it Strong understanding of surface prep, materials, and application methods Willingness to work physically every day in all job conditions Valid driver’s license Preferred Prior experience as a working foreman or lead technician OSHA certification or similar safety training Experience with commercial or large‑scale residential projects Skills & Traits We’re Looking For Leads by example Strong work ethic and high personal standards Takes ownership and responsibility without being asked Problem‑solver who stays productive under pressure Respected by others because they do the work, not avoid it Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly Comfortable working at heights and on ladders/lifts Able to work outdoors in heat, humidity, and varying conditions Capable of sustained physical labor throughout the day Bottom Line You won’t just run the job—you’ll be in it.
