Location: Rayville, LA | Payrate: $35 - $42 | Schedule: 6:30am to 4pm


PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a respected construction company to hire a dedicated Safety Representative who thrives in the field and leads by example. This is a hands-on role for a safety professional who is passionate about protecting people, ensuring compliance, and driving a strong safety culture across active construction projects.


About the Role & Your Impact

As a Safety Representative, you will be the front line of safety on the jobsite-working directly with crews, supervisors, and project leadership to prevent incidents before they happen. Your presence, expertise, and leadership will help create a safe, compliant, and productive work environment where teams can perform at their best.


Key Responsibilities

• Review, implement, and support safety regulations, policies, and standards across assigned projects
• Serve as a safety advisor to project managers, supervisors, and field personnel
• Conduct jobsite safety orientations and ongoing training for crews
• Perform daily safety inspections to identify, document, and correct hazards
• Track and follow up on corrective actions from inspections and audits
• Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, including reporting and documentation
• Coach and engage crews on safe work practices and reinforce safety expectations
• Maintain detailed safety records, compliance documentation, and reporting

Safety & Compliance Expectations

• Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards
• Familiarity with excavation safety, fall protection, and active work zone hazards
• Ability to consistently enforce safety policies and procedures in real time
• Maintain accurate inspection logs and incident documentation

Work Environment & Field Presence

• Spend the majority of the day in active construction zones
• Walk job sites regularly, including uneven terrain and high-activity areas
• Comfortable climbing ladders, entering excavations, and working at heights
• Engage directly with crews, foremen, and supervisors throughout the day
• Work in environments with noise, dust, heavy equipment, and changing conditions
• Required use of PPE in active work zones

Required Qualifications

• STS-C Certification (Safety Trained Supervisor - Construction)
• OSHA 30 Certification (Construction)
• 3-5 years of construction safety experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with both field teams and management
• Willingness to travel and/or relocate as needed
• Physical ability to safely access all areas of active job sites

Preferred Qualifications

• An BCSP Cert of STSC is also preferred, but not required.
• Prior hands-on construction field experience
• Experience supporting multiple job sites or large-scale projects
• Strong coaching and leadership skills with the ability to influence safety culture

Pay Details: $35.00 to $42.00 per hour
