Travel Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Pending License accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: Experience in a large Labor and Delivery unit/facility; 3s/4s in postpartum, baby nurse, meconium deliveries Description: No RQI certifications are accepted. Please note that if you do not have an NRP certification in hand upon submission, due to high volume, there may be difficulties scheduling an NRP class in time for your start date. The facility requires experience in circulating and fetal heart monitoring skills. Traveling staff do not have any specific weekend requirements at the moment. Managing the schedule is currently difficult, so no guarantees can be made about time off on weekends. An approach to floating within the scope to meet facility needs is required. Clinicians must float to antepartum and postpartum. Candidates must have experience with cerclage, version, C/S, PPTL, external and internal monitoring, AROM, and medically assisted deliveries. Experience in a large Labor and Delivery unit or facility is mandatory. Willingness to accommodate a block schedule is not guaranteed. Candidates will be required to practice in accordance with patient ratios during both day and night shifts, which are typically 1:2. The daily census is approximately 8 births, with around 25 visits per day. The unit consists of 12 labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, 3 operating rooms, 5 PACU beds, and a 7 bed OB triage area. Special procedures may include neonatal palliative care, massive transfusion protocol, and management of malignant hyperthermia. A commitment to supporting breastfeeding and lactation is expected. All surgical and patient care practices must adhere to established safety protocols. The facility emphasizes a collaborative approach with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Experience with managing insulin-dependent labor and various patient diagnoses is required. Candidates should be prepared for drug screening and compliance processes prior to start. Failure to meet eligibility requirements may result in termination of the contract. Meeting the necessary experience levels in patient care and operational efficiency is crucial for success in this role.
