Veterinarian

Associate Veterinarian - Part-Time or Full-Time PetMed of Key West Veterinary Clinic | Dubuque, Iowa Great Medicine. Good People. A Schedule That Leaves Room for a Life. We're a privately owned small animal and exotics practice in Dubuque, Iowa and we think veterinary medicine can be a great career without consuming your entire life. We're looking for a part-time or full-time veterinarian, from a brand-new graduate to someone who has been doing this for decades. We care much more about finding the right person than filling a particular number of hours. Our weekday hours are 8 AM-5 PM. We take our lunch breaks, and we leave on time. Really. We practice modern medicine with an experienced, supportive team that genuinely enjoys working together. We take medicine seriously, but we also laugh-a lot. Our caseload includes dogs, cats, and exotics. Love exotics? Great. Want to learn? We'll help you. Prefer dogs and cats? Also great. Exotics are completely optional. Part-Time Looking to step back from full-time practice without stepping away from veterinary medicine? Or simply looking for a schedule that leaves room for the rest of your life? We're very open to that. 2 days per week Friday required as one of those days One Saturday morning per month, 8 AM-12 PM No on-call Choice of daily rate or ProSal, based on your preference SIMPLE IRA/retirement plan participation available Pet health care discounts Full-Time 4-day work week One Saturday morning per month, 8 AM-12 PM ProSal compensation 3 weeks (12 days) paid time off SIMPLE IRA with 3% employer match Health care stipend Option to participate in our group health insurance plan Employer-paid long-term disability insurance Generous continuing education and professional development, including opportunities to attend national veterinary conferences Pet health care discounts Who would fit here? Someone who practices good medicine, communicates well, works collaboratively, and treats clients and coworkers with respect. You do not need to arrive knowing everything. You do need to be willing to ask questions, keep learning, and be part of the team. New graduate? You'll have real mentorship and experienced people around you while you build confidence. Experienced veterinarian? We value the experience you bring. You'll have the autonomy to practice medicine without someone looking over your shoulder. And if you're looking for part-time because you have kids, horses, hobbies, another job, or simply want more days that belong to you we understand. Why PetMed of Key West? We're locally and privately owned. We have modern equipment, an experienced team, an interesting caseload, and the freedom to practice medicine without corporate quotas. And when we say we value work-life balance, we mean something very specific: You get a lunch. You get out on time. And you get to have a life outside the clinic.
