Registered Nurse Med Surg

Registered Nurse Full Time Med/Surg Department

The Registered Nurse (RN) works as a contributing member of the Med/Surg Department at our main hospital campus. They will provide professional nursing care, treatment, counseling, and health education to assigned inpatients. The RN works as a part of a health care team and plans in conjunction with physicians and other care team members.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring vital signs and administering medications, including intravenous medications, with input from the care team.
• Supporting patients with bandage care, pain management, and ensuring they rest, drink fluids, and eat properly.
• Tracking patient progress, updating medical records, and communicating with doctors as needed.
• Educating patients and standing up for them when necessary.
• Helping maintain health and prevent illnesses, injuries, and disabilities.
• Completing various tasks as assigned.

Qualifications include:

• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Valid registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado required.
• Must have current BLS card upon hire.
• Position also requires ACLS, PALS or ENPC certification within 6 months of initial employment.
• All required certifications must maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
• Prefer one year of professional nursing experience in a patient care setting. Must be 18 years of age or older.

Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
