Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a hospital setting. Responsible for ensuring safe delivery processes and supporting maternal and neonatal needs during shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patient condition throughout labor and delivery.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
• Circulate during cesarean sections and assist with emergency procedures.
• Document patient progress accurately using Meditech or CPN systems.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care.
• Ensure adherence to infection control policies and dress code standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas RN license; temporary licenses are not accepted.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience.
• Proficient in handling labor/delivery, recovery, and neonatal care.
• Ability to scrub in for C-section procedures.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Familiarity with Meditech preferred.
