As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will report directly to a licensed Physical Therapist, assisting in the delivery of rehabilitative services designed to enhance patient recovery and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific orthopedic needs.
• Administer hands-on therapeutic interventions, which may include guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, applying manual therapy techniques, and utilizing specialized equipment.
• Regularly assess patient progress, maintaining detailed documentation that helps adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize recovery outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families on effective exercise techniques, safety guidelines, and home-care strategies to enhance rehabilitation efforts outside the clinical setting.
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and nursing staff, to foster an integrated approach to patient care.
• Maintain accurate and organized patient records in compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices, ensuring confidentiality and quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role focuses mainly on adult patients dealing with post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions emanating from orthopedic issues. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field is required.
• Current, active PTA license in the state of New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience within an orthopedic setting, demonstrating a solid understanding of rehabilitation protocols and patient care practices.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, with the ability to apply this knowledge in patient interactions and treatment planning.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and colleagues, while fostering a supportive atmosphere.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a hospital environment is preferred, with an emphasis on orthopedic patient recovery.

Compensation and Benefits
