Registered Nurse - Forensic-PRN

Carroll Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Forensic Care Nursing team. Job Summary:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care by assessing patients, developing individualized care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes.
• Collect, document, and maintain accurate patient health and forensic information while ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary healthcare teams, patients, families, and external agencies to coordinate and deliver quality patient care.
• Administer medications safely by following medication administration policies, completing medication reconciliation, and adhering to the Five Rights of Medication Administration.
• Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, utilize critical thinking, and coordinate appropriate interventions or emergency resources as needed.
• Promote patient safety by implementing infection prevention measures, fall prevention strategies, restraint policies, and universal precautions.
• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while ensuring all required documentation and communication are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and evidence-based nursing practices to support quality patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate leadership by mentoring and supporting colleagues, fostering teamwork, resolving concerns through the chain of command, and contributing to a positive work environment.
• Manage workload effectively by maintaining flexibility, accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous process improvement and high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse RN license for a minimum of 18 months required.
• Emergency Department and Family Birth experience preferred
• BLS through American Heart Association
• 72 hour a month call requirement
• FNE-A preferred
