Shift Leader

Job Location 077 Choctaw - Choctaw, OK 73020 Position Summary Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. Shift Leaders do not have a minimum hour requirement. Primary Responsibilities Adhere to restaurant performance standards by ensuring crew members are working at their assigned stations, regulating workflow, and reassigning crew as needed; support labor goals by reducing crew when business volume slows. Resolve guest concerns in person or by phone, exercise good judgment regarding customer credit, and document credit decisions for audits. Ensure guests’ needs are met, including preparing dough, providing accurate delivery times, verifying orders at dispatch, and pre‑bussing and bussing tables promptly; welcome guests and thank them for their business. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards: verify glove use, keep restrooms clean, disinfect surfaces, store food at proper temperatures, and keep floors and surfaces clear of debris. Verify crew uniform compliance and proper foot‑wear to prevent accidents. Perform shift‑related cash tasks: driver and server cash out, tip distribution, safe and drawer counts, deposits, end‑of‑shift activities on POS and back‑office systems, and document anomalies via incident reports. Ensure safety and security of crew, guests, products, and cash while manager on duty—lock doors, set alarms, secure money and the safe, and allow only authorized personnel after hours. Handle additional administrative duties such as scheduling, inputting produce or Sygma orders, assisting inventory, preparing weekly packets, and inputting cash payouts. Assist in training and developing crew members. Skills and Qualifications Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven leadership and decision‑making skills. Excellent guest‑relations skills and tact. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. In‑depth knowledge of Mazzio’s operational procedures. Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations. Comfortable with workplace technology, POS systems, etc. Basic math skills. Ability to manage, direct, and correct crew members. Experience / Education & Certification / Licenses Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp1 Test before running a shift as manager on duty. Possibly required Food Handler’s permit, Foodservice Sanitation Certification, or other local permits, certificates, or licenses. Valid driver’s license with personal vehicle insurance and a driving record that meets Mazzio’s insurance carrier standards. Physical Demands Shift Leaders may exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly while performing duties primarily from a standing position. Tasks include frequent walking, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs, standing and moving quickly for 8‑12 hour shifts, including split shifts. A sense of taste is required to determine the quality of food products. Working Conditions The position is mainly indoors, with exposure to extreme heat, wet and humid conditions, frequent hand washing, and interaction with kitchen equipment such as conveyor belts, mixers, and slicers. Use of machines, calculators, cash registers, computers, and other equipment is required.
