While our business has grown tremendously since the beginning, we still operate with the same 'small-company' family-feel. Buchanan Marine LP is looking for a similar-minded, career-driven individual with a strong work ethic and stable sea-legs who is comfortable working and living aboard our tugs for one-week at a time (followed by a similar time-off period).

An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, be eager to learn and have a career mentality. Since our Company prefers to grow from within, our Captains are promoted from our Mates.

General Expectations

As a Mate, you will be working and living aboard during your on-hitch period. Basic expectations and responsibilities include navigating, towing operations, basic computer literacy, and general good seamanship.
