Our company is dedicated to delivering safe, dependable services to our customers and has been operating under the same management for over 10 years. While the towing industry is often dynamic, Buchanan Marine LP is a transportation organization that provides a reliable work environment for our employees with consistent time on, and time off the boat.
While our business has grown tremendously since the beginning, we still operate with the same 'small-company' family-feel. Buchanan Marine LP is looking for a similar-minded, career-driven individual with a strong work ethic and stable sea-legs who is comfortable working and living aboard our tugs for one-week at a time (followed by a similar time-off period).
An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, be eager to learn and have a career mentality. Since our Company prefers to grow from within, our Captains are promoted from our Mates.

General Expectations
As a Mate, you will be working and living aboard during your on-hitch period. Basic expectations and responsibilities include navigating, towing operations, basic computer literacy, and general good seamanship.
