Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with robotics and Level I Trauma experience for a 13-week night shift assignment at a busy acute care hospital.

Details

General OR unit with 9 regular beds, 1 trauma bay, and 1 urgent bay

Level I Trauma acute care setting

Handles approximately 30 cases per day

Uses Cerner and Surginet EMR systems

Night shift schedule: Sunday-Tuesday, 18:30-07:00, 12-hour shifts

No call required for the standard schedule, though on-call rotation is one weekend a month and one night a week as needed

Rotates weekend coverage with staff

Charge nurse and CSTs present on the unit

RT and pharmacy support available 24/7

Scrubs provided by facility

May float to Lithotripsy (if skilled), Westgate, or AZ General Laveen campuses

One week of floor-specific orientation provided

Cares for general, ortho, robotics, plastics, trauma, ENT, spine, urology, GYN, neonate, high-risk c-section, donor, hand, and occasional eye surgery patients

Requirements

Active AZ or Compact RN license required

BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of experience required

Level I Trauma, ortho trauma, and general OR experience required

Robotics experience required

Circulating experience required; scrub RN experience a strong plus

BSN not required

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

Must complete a pass/fail SIMs Lab skills check on day one of orientation, including Foley catheter insertion and maintenance of sterile field

Additional lift, restraint, and wound care training provided during orientation for educational purposes

Team structure includes 1 RN and 1 CST during the week; RN, CST, and a huck on weekends

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as verified by driver's license

Candidates previously employed directly (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year are not eligible
