Operator I Operator I provides necessary support to the production teams, assist machine operators with assigned tasks, maintain materials and supplies, track inventories, and package finished products. Responsibilities include operating a forklift truck to safely deliver materials to and from the factory, reading work orders and/or following oral instructions to determine materials to be mixed for each run, loading/unloading materials onto or from pallets, gaylords boxes, and shelves via forklift or by hand, loading resins into blenders, grinders, dryers and hoppers by hand or vacuum system, maintaining and preparing packaging supplies, packaging all finished products ensuring correct packaging material, labels and details, per customer specification, handling materials and inventory control using barcode scanner, assisting operators with stringing lines and taking rolls off machines, assisting operators with roll data entry, roll changing, changing trim, mounting unwound rolls, cutovers and cleaning the systems, assisting warehouse manager with monthly inventory, and maintaining confidentiality of information such as formulas, supplier names, materials, process conditions and set-up information. Other relevant duties as assigned. Required Education & Skillsets: Read a ruler and understand measurements in fractions and decimals, read, write and comprehend instructions and correspondence, communicate effectively with workers and supervisor, add, subtract, divide and multiply with the aid of a calculator, perform calculations that include but are not limited to fractions and decimals, use a computer for basic data entry of production and materials in database. Preferred Education and Skillsets: High School diploma or GED, prior warehouse or manufacturing experience. Physical Demands: Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds, be able to work 12 hours shifts, perform repetitive tasks, routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk, reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces, have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus, meet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial Trucks. PPE Requirements: Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment including; safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe), safety glasses, bump caps, protective gloves; when performing certain tasks, hearing protection; when required, other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks. Work Environment: Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment. Air temperatures can range from cold to hot. Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes and odors.
