Enterprise Risk Business Technology Team provides technology and data solutions for Financial Risk, Non-Financial Risk, Financial Crimes and Compliance organizations, partnering across the Enterprise Risk to define strategies, roadmaps, objectives, and deliver capabilities that transform the businesses. This role will be responsible for the solution architecture for a sophisticated portfolio, enabling enterprise change through architectural leadership.The Sr. Tech Lead, Architecture will be a key technical leader across product development, engineering, data, and business team, providing strategic leadership and technical mentorship. You will be responsible for architecting robust, scalable, and secure solutions, while playing a critical role in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical execution. You will be a key contributor to a technology strategy and will ensure alignment between programs across the Enterprise Risk, in partnership with business stakeholders, while adhering to overall Freddie Mac Technology principles. This position requires a strong communicator who can translate complex technical issues into easily understood communications that will influence executive audiences with varied technical backgrounds and capabilitiesOur Impact:Delivery of Enterprise Risk technology and data solutions for Financial, Non-Financial, Financial Crimes and Compliance organizations that enable operational efficiency and business transformation.Ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and standards through technology solutions.Integration with a common Freddie Mac Enterprise data platform to enable effective risk-related data analytics and reporting.Enablement of the overall Freddie Mac technology vision within Enterprise Risk to drive technology innovation and modernization, including transformation through GenAI.Enabling secure operations and solutions.Your Impact:Lead the design of complex, high-impact technical solutions across multiple systems and teams, contributing to the overall technology vision across Enterprise Risk.Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into architectural blueprints and implementation roadmaps.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with architecture principles and best practices.Own and evolve architectural standards, patterns, and documentation for long-term scalability and maintainability.Evaluate emerging technologies and make strategic recommendations aligned with business goals.Conduct architectural reviews and provide hands-on support when needed for technical decisions.Drive cross-functional alignment, balancing innovation, speed, and technical debt.Collaborate with Freddie Mac Enterprise Technology, Architecture, Data, and Security organizations to ensure solutions are aligned with enterprise standards and principles.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.10+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on experience with modern frameworks and technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Kafka, Angular, Java, Python)8+ years in a senior architectural or technical leadership role.This is a director level role as a single contributor.Deep experience in solution architecture, microservices, APIs, integration patterns, security best practices, micro-front ends, 12 factors, etc.Proven track record of designing and deploying scalable, cloud-native solutions within AWS, Azure, or GCP (AWS is preferred).Experience with building GenAI and AI solutionsStrong knowledge of software development lifecycle, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies.3+ years of relevant large-scale enterprise transformation experience as relates to architecture preferred.Prior experience in the primary or secondary mortgage industry is desirable, with architecture experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., (finance, healthcare) required.Certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, etc.) are preferredExcellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.Ability to influence senior stakeholder and translate complex ideas into actionable outcomes.Keys to Success in this Role:Highly motivated and energetic self-starter with solid organizational and time management skills; demonstrable experience operating at high standards of quality and accuracy within a fast-paced changing environment.Superb communication, leadership, and relationship management skills, that enable partnering with and influencing key team members in an open, collaborative environment at all levels of the organization.Technical and Architectural leadership with knowledge of cloud-based solutions and emerging technologies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to succinctly present and translate complex ideas into actionable outcomes.Current Freddie Mac employees please apply through the internal career site.We consider all applicants for all positions without regard to gender, race, color, religion, national origin, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, physical and mental disability, pregnancy, ethnicity, genetic information or any other protected categories under applicable federal, state or local laws. This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $179,000 - $269,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
