Director of Regional Operations - General Manager Multiple Branch locations Regional Leadership – Building Material Multiple Branch Responsibilities PJW Group Search Firm has been retained to identify a Regional Leader/Director in the Building Material Sector (Distribution-Based). Our client is a $7.4 billion organization that has approximately 80 Branches (distribution centers) throughout the US. This Publicly Traded client is in a growth transition through both organic and inorganic planning. We are searching for a dynamic, results-oriented Regional Director. In this role, you will oversee the management of multiple branches (4 Total Branches) within a region. Your responsibilities will include leading seven Branch Managers to drive sales and profitability, achieving customer service goals, managing budgets, and developing a dedicated team while building relationships inside and outside the company. Their Regional Leaders ensure operational excellence in business processes related to safety, operational standards, financial controls, and policies and procedures. JOB DUTIES AND DAILY FOCUS Partner with Executive Leadership to meet financial, sales, and business objectives. Communication is both verbal and written. Able to juggle the importance of Sales and the detailed work of operations. Comfortable with working with different business units and sales funnels. Each branch sells in the building material space, BUT through different funnels. With the support of the local Branch Managers, Sales Delivery leads the P&L, Safety processes, and Operational efficiencies. Build and lead a team to surpass company financial targets. Hold complete accountability for the assigned region and operational expenses. Implement a succession planning process to identify and develop top-level talent. Foster strong industry, customer, and team relationships. Supervise inventory and purchasing processes for optimal levels and customer service. Consistently enhance hiring processes to become best in class. Ensure timely and efficient completion of the month-end close and procedures. Enhance cost efficiency, live the company’s values, and ensure employee engagement. Ensure safety processes are followed for both OSHA and DOT compliance. Own Safety outcomes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and results. Communicate with other Regional Leaders on Best Practices and implement. QUALIFICATION TO ENSURE SUCCESS Applicable experience in Distribution/Logistics, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. Over 10 years of management/supervisory experience, ideally in a high-volume setting. Industry background in Construction and/or Building Products, preferred. Demonstrated leadership and exceptional customer service skills. Experience working in the residential building space. Aligning with local builders and purchasing decision makers. This role will have travel requirements, which could be as high as 70%. Understand the importance of relationship building, not only with clients but also with the employees who make the organization the best. Experience with P&L and constant reporting on financial results Viewed as a Subject Matter Expert in Sales and Operational Best Practices. Experience with other employees, seeing you as a person who will know how to handle situations. Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities. Effective problem-solving and analytical skills. Comfortable with financial reporting software. Building client relationships with long-term partnerships is the focus.
