Assistant Swim Coach

Description Responsibilities
- Assist with practice planning and conducting daily swim practices for age-group and/or senior-level athletes.
- Teach and reinforce proper stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategies.
- Provide constructive feedback and individualized instruction to swimmers.
- Support athlete progression through goal setting, performance evaluation, and skill development.
- Attend and assist at local, regional, and championship swim meets as assigned.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe training environment.
- Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and coaching staff.
- Assist with team events, clinics, and community outreach activities.
- Adhere to all USA Swimming policies, including Safe Sport requirements and athlete protection guidelines.
- Competitive swimming background required; collegiate swimming experience preferred.
- Previous coaching experience with age-group or competitive swimmers preferred.
- Strong knowledge of stroke mechanics, training methodologies, and race preparation.
- Ability to motivate and inspire swimmers of varying ages and skill levels.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Current USA Swimming coach certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to employment.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Safety Training for Swim Coaches certifications (or ability to obtain).
- USA Swimming Coach Membership in good standing.
- Experience using Team Unify, HY-TEK, or similar swim team management software.
- Understanding of long-course and short-course training and competition.
- Experience coaching swimmers at championship-level meets.
- Competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience, starting at $19/hour.
