Growing together. - As a part time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; and procuring drugs. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements. - Location: Southridge Behavioral Hospital in Byron Center, MI is a 96-bed behavioral health hospital offering inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment for adults in the southern Grand Rapids area. -Schedule: This part-time, nonexempt position will work 20 hours per week and additionally as needed to help provide PTO and weekend coverage.About the Pharmacy: Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00am-3:00pm and utilizes HCS and Omnicell. Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency
- Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing units
- Maintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates
- Support medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation
- Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery
- Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulations
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Michigan Pharmacy Technician license in good standing -
- Recent experience in a retail pharmacy
- PTCB/CPhT
- Experience in a hospital pharmacy
- Automated dispensing machine experience
