Residential Counselor Job Overview: Our Residential Service Program offers a continuum of housing for people with severe mental illnesses, providing a structured, least restrictive setting for adults. The Residential Counselor ensures safety and security, promotes a healthy and supportive environment, and collaborates with the residential nurse, supervisor, and director to implement individualized rehabilitation treatment goals. Key Responsibilities Conduct screening, brief interventions, facilitate treatment referrals, school consultation, and community support referrals. Coordinate and integrate treatment with other therapists, psychiatry, case management, and service providers within and between agencies when appropriate. Support implementation of case review/school needs assessment process and provide direct services to students, parents, and caregivers according to Tier eligibility. Partner with the Hub Director to develop and implement mental health workplans and social/emotional learning assessments. Oversee the timely and evidence-based delivery of clinical services for students within the Hub. Counsel individuals, families, or groups in an outpatient setting, and develop and implement therapeutic treatment plans. Establish and maintain positive relationships with residents, fostering a supportive and caring environment. Provide assistance and guidance to residents in daily living activities, including personal care, meal planning, and household chores. Implement and monitor individualized treatment plans, ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of residents. Facilitate group activities and therapeutic programs that promote skill development, socialization, and community integration. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of residents' progress, incidents, and significant observations. Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including residential supervisor, nurse, director, and medical professionals. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum four years of related mental health experience. Demonstrated professionalism and commitment to excellence in care. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred: Baccalaureate degree in mental health, health, or related human services discipline with experience working with chronically ill adults. Bilingual Rate: Additional $1.50/hour for Spanish proficiency.
