Description: The position requires a phlebotomist with a minimum of two years of experience. First-timers are not accepted. Orientation consists of 40 hours of training. The position involves drawing blood and processing specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics. Skills necessary for this role include aseptic technique, proper disposal, and labeling of specimens. Experience with Epic charting is preferred. The candidate will be responsible for the proper care of post-venipuncture sites and the timely delivery of specimens to the laboratory. Knowledge of microbiological specimens and general specimen processing is essential. The phlebotomist may need to float between similar units based on facility requirements. Flexibility with scheduling and holiday coverage may be expected. Travel experience is required for this position. Candidates must be prepared to adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
