Unit/Department Urology Clinic
# beds 6 clinic rooms, 4 procedure rooms
Ratios 33-40 patients per day, 2 nurses, 1 CST, 1 CNA.
Required Certifications BLS
Common diagnosis / Types of patients BPH, Hematuria, UTI, LUTS, Frequency, Cystoscopy, Prostate biopsy
Experience or 'Must have' skills Be able to set up sterile field and assist in procedures, ability to place catheters
Are RN's required to titrate drips n/a
Common titratable &/or set rate drips n/a
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor lead urology nurse, nurse supervisor, clinic adminstator
Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios n/a
RT Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) n/a
Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do nurses read strips? N/A
Shifts & Scheduling Daytime hours Monday - Friday vary, staff rotate. 0730-1600, 0800-1630, 0830-1700, 0900-1730
Weekend Requirement None
Holiday Requirement None - Clinics are closed during the following Holidays (July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day)
Is there a call or standby requirement? No
Floating Requirements If this is an option, there could be the potential to float to one of the other departments within our specialty clinics. Job duties and functions would remain the same.
Is the pharmacy 24/7? Inpatient pharmacy is 24/7
Scrub Color/Dress Code Scrubs (any color)
Unit/Department Specific Orientation procedure set up and take down
