This role operates a knuckleboom, wheel loader, or front-end loader by performing the following duties. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, bulldozers and other heavy industrial equipment.Principal Responsibilities:Load, unload, sort and transport material while following quality, environmental, safety and production expectations.Accurately move material to and from processing equipment, railroad cars, trucks, treating trams, storage bins and other areas as required.Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.Positions forks, lifting platform or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, product or materials and transports load to designated area.Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.Will participate and know importance of consistent bin/sku management principals.Will participate in FIFO expectations while handling inventory.Will participate in physical inventories when applicable.Assists in moving of treatment charges for storage, loading and unloading.Assists in maintenance and service of mobile equipment as required, including inspections, fueling, safety and cleaning as required.Trains peers in equipment operation.Documents and reports mechanical operation and maintenance requirements of equipment.Participates and contributes to company safety program.Performs other job related duties as assigned.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or GEDExperience: Mobile heavy equipment operator experience with wood products preferred. *Must have front-end loader or tractor experience.License/Certification: PIE certificationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Good eye/hand coordinationAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructionsEmployee Benefits: As a Stella-Jones employee, you will have access to excellent benefits and incentives including:The security of working for a company designated as an essential workplaceComprehensive total benefits package with 3 medical plans to choose fromSeveral company-paid benefits including:Dental and Vision coverageLife insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) policiesLong-Term Disability CoverageAccess to a robust employee assistance programCompetitive compensationAnnual bonus program opportunity401(k) savings plan with generous Company match (150% on the first 4% deferred)2 weeks paid vacation and 9 holidaysCareer advancement opportunitiesAbility to purchase Company stockEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
