Job Overview:

Pay Range: $19.10hr - $24.10hr

Requirement/Must Have:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of computers.
• Ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
• Ability to work in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits.
• Availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department including A-station, presort, and imaging/microfilming.
• Handle pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory.
• Perform centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens.
• Ensure all functions are performed with confidence, accuracy, and in a timely manner.
• Learn and understand specimen types related to tests ordered.
• Maintain compliance with regulations related to test ordering.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
• Adhere to core values, safety, and compliance policies and procedures.
• Keep work area neat and clean.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive environment.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing.
• Previous laboratory experience.
• Medical background including medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
• Previous hospital laboratory experience.
• Previous experience in a production environment.

Qualification And Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements(Due to nature of job, The candidate must have):
