Staff Accountant

The Mullings Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with 1-3 years of experience who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting multiple entities, assisting with month-end close activities, and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. Responsibilities Process and record accounts payable transactions for multiple entities. Assist with accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections support, and cash application. Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare and maintain intercompany reconciliations and expense allocations. Assist in month-end and year-end close processes. Record journal entries and ensure transactions are properly classified. Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks Online and other financial systems. Support the preparation of monthly management reports and financial analyses. Assist with recruiter commission calculations and related reporting. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking activities. Help maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data, identify trends, and support decision-making. Assist with audit, tax, and compliance-related requests as needed. Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability across the accounting function. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or currently in final classes to complete degree requirements). 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within a multi-entity or high-growth environment. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Experience with QuickBooks Online required. Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial analysis functions. Experience performing account reconciliations and month-end close activities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
