Full-Time Maintenance Technician – Private Indigenous Community

Location: Indigenous Community, Alabama

Private Indigenous village is seeking a dependable, self-motivated  full-time Maintenance Technician to help care for our unique village community. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in solving practical problems, and appreciates working in a peaceful natural environment.

The responsibilities will vary from day to day and may include:

• General property maintenance and repairs.
• Basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
• Operating heavy equipment such as a skid steer, tractor, mini-excavator (experience required).
• Heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Chainsaw operation and tree or trail maintenance.
• Operating and maintaining power tools.
• Assisting with construction and improvement projects, such as fences, truck/vehicle maintenance.
• Maintaining cabins, buildings, roads, and shared facilities.
• Helping preserve the safety and beauty of the property.

We're looking for someone who:

• Is experienced with general maintenance and repair work.
• Is comfortable using power tools and outdoor equipment.
• Has experience with chainsaws (preferred).
• Has road maintenance and groundskeeping experience.
• Has experience operating heavy machinery or is willing to learn.
• Can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Is physically capable of outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Is dependable, adaptable, and takes initiative.
• Has a respectful, positive attitude and works well with others.
• Respects our indigenous cultural life ways and language.
