This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.About the RoleWe are looking for a Director of Government Affairs to join our fast-growing Government Team. You will develop and execute legislative strategies, shape strategic communications, and manage engagements in Congressional and Executive branches. Duties will include shaping and monitoring legislation related to autonomy and AI in defense, developing positions and responses to policy and appropriations, and representing the company in front of key policymakers.At Applied Intuition, You Will:Develop, maintain, and build networks of relationships with Members of Congress and Congressional staff on relevant Appropriations and Authorization Committees and SubcommitteesShape federal legislative priorities, political strategy, and policy development; understand business priorities, growth opportunities and potential risks to inform policy objectivesWork closely with Applied's business development teams, external government affairs consultants, associations, and industry partnersDraft legislative language, policy briefings and presentations, hearing testimony, and position papersBuild coalitions across interest groups for trusted autonomyMonitor and analyze federal legislative proposalsPartner with cross-functional leaders to ensure successful completion across any special projectsWe're Looking For Someone Who Has:5-10 years of Capitol Hill, federal government, and/or issue advocacy experienceFamiliarity with federal legislative landscape and Appropriations/Authorization processesExpertise in defense, national security, autonomy, and/or emerging technologiesEstablished bipartisan relationships with relevant Congressional offices and committeesAbility to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational skills and highly detail-orientedProven track record of executionA sense of humorNice To Have:1-3 years of lobbying experience"Can-do" attitudeno task is too smallGraduate degree with a focus on legislative process, technology, and/or national securityTechnical background, particularly related to autonomy or artificial intelligenceCompensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position.
