Key Qualifications:

• Current, active School Social Worker certification (required)
• Valid state licensure for social work practice in Michigan
• Previous experience in school-based settings or with elementary-aged children preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to individual or group needs
• Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling and crisis intervention to students facing social, behavioral, or emotional challenges
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor individualized support plans
• Serve as an advocate for students’ diverse needs, connecting them and their families to community resources
• Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives that promote positive behavioral supports and mental health awareness
• Maintain detailed documentation and progress notes in accordance with school policies and legal requirements
• Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings as needed
