About the Position This position is located at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a clinical nurse performing a variety of professional nursing and health services to patients of all ages. Work Hours Work hour shifts range from 8 to 12 hours and may vary between 0700‑1900 and 1100‑2300. Application This is an open continuous announcement. Basic Requirements for Nurse (Clinical/Emergency Department) Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor’s, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted professional nurse license or registration with a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory, and having passed the National Council Licensure Examination. Foreign degree requirement: Graduates from foreign nursing schools must complete the CGFNS certification program, including credential evaluation, CGFNS qualifying exam, and an approved English‑language proficiency exam. CGFNS certificate is required. Exemption: Current federal employees occupying a 0610 occupational series and continuously employed since September27,2017, are exempt from these basic requirements. Documentation must be provided to the Human Resources Office. Additional Qualification Requirements Professional nursing experience: One or more full years of professional nursing experience providing comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting for urgent or emergent care, administering special, potent, and potentially lethal drugs, responding to emergencies, collaborating with physicians to assess patients in critical condition, and implementing nursing care plans. This definition of experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in federal service (GS‑11). No substitution of education for experience is permitted.
