Territory Sales Manager – San Francisco Bay Area

Job Overview

Modern Mill is seeking a motivated Territory Sales Manager to represent ACRE by Modern Mill throughout the San Francisco Bay Area . Candidates must live within the territory and be comfortable spending significant time in the field developing relationships within local building and design communities.

This is an excellent entry into a professional sales career for someone with experience in construction, building materials, siding, remodeling, or a related field who is ready to use their industry knowledge in a customer-facing sales role.

The primary focus of this position will be calling on builders and architects to build awareness, generate specifications and project opportunities, and develop demand for ACRE products. We are looking for someone who is proactive, comfortable developing new relationships, and motivated by creating new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a targeted list of builders and architects throughout the assigned territory.
• Build relationships with new and existing builders, architects, and other key project decision-makers.
• Maintain an active field call schedule to generate awareness and understanding of ACRE by Modern Mill products.
• Identify new construction and remodeling projects where ACRE products may be a strong fit.
• Conduct product presentations, training, and demonstrations for builders and architectural firms.
• Educate customers on product features, applications, installation considerations, and available resources.
• Prospect for new business through field visits, networking, industry events, referrals, and cold calling.
• Develop project opportunities and coordinate appropriate follow-up to help move opportunities through the sales process.
• Maintain accurate customer, project, lead, and activity information in the company's CRM system .
• Follow up on customer questions and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Serve as a strong voice of the customer by communicating market feedback, product needs, competitive activity, and emerging trends to the Modern Mill team.
• Participate in relevant local trade shows, builder events, architectural events, and other industry activities.
• Maintain an organized calendar of customer appointments, project follow-ups, and territory activities.
• Partner with internal Modern Mill teams to support customers and resolve product or project-related concerns.
• Keep the Modern Mill team informed of significant developments within the territory, including competitor products, market activity, construction trends, and customer opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, siding, remodeling, building materials, architecture, or a related industry is strongly preferred .
• Previous outside sales experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate .
• Interest in developing a career in field sales and business development.
• Working knowledge of siding, exterior building products, construction practices, or building materials is a strong advantage.
• Comfortable approaching new customers and developing relationships from the ground up.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage a territory and daily schedule independently.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to learn technical product information and communicate it effectively to builders and architects.
• Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced and growing organization.
• Strong follow-up, organization, and time-management skills.
• Comfortable using CRM and other technology to document customer and project activity.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
• Ability to travel overnight as needed, approximately 20% .
