CNC Machinist / Setup Technician (Growth Opportunity – Small Shop)

Location: Franklin, IN.

Pay: Based on experience (hourly + growth incentives)

Schedule: Day shift, 7 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.

We’re a small, growing machine shop running Haas mills and lathes (VF-2, TM-1, ST-10, ST-35) using Fusion 360. Most of our work is repeat production.

We’re looking for a  motivated mid-level CNC machinist who wants more responsibility than just pushing buttons — someone who wants to help build something, not hide in a big shop.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership of jobs and processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Setting up CNC mills and lathes (fixtures, jaws, offsets, tooling)
• Loading and running existing programs
• Making basic program edits at the machine when needed
• Verifying first articles and maintaining part quality
• Documenting setups so jobs can be repeated consistently
• Working directly with the owner on process improvements
• Helping standardize tooling, setups, and repeat jobs

You will  not be treated like “just an operator.” Your input matters here.

What We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for someone who:

• Has 2–5 years CNC experience
• Is comfortable with setups (mills and/or lathes)
• Can read prints and use basic inspection tools
• Understands feeds/speeds and tooling basics
• Can make minor program edits (Fusion experience is a plus)
• Shows up on time and takes ownership of their work
• Wants to grow into a lead or key shop role

You don’t need to be a master programmer or 20-year veteran.

You  do need to care.
