Are you a safe, dependable driver who enjoys helping others and making a positive impact in the community? The City of La Vista is seeking a responsible, customer-focused part-time Driver II to support its Special Services transportation program, providing safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for senior citizens and individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities.

Under the direction of the Recreation Manager - Seniors, the Driver II operates City transportation vehicles and serves as the lead driver, helping coordinate daily operations, support driver scheduling, train new employees, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with program requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate City transportation vehicles and assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and mobility devices.
• Coordinate ride reservations, schedules, routes, and service communications.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety.
• Review driver logs, collect fares, and prepare required reports.
• Train and mentor drivers and assist with scheduling, fleet maintenance, and program compliance.
• Provide courteous service and maintain positive relationships with passengers and the public.

Qualifications & Skills Needed

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Comfort using technology and proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as other software applications.
• Basic math skills to collect fares and reconcile cash receipts accurately.
• CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain certification within the timeframe established by the City.
• Ability to be bonded.

Work Schedule

• Work Days: Monday through Friday, with an exepected schedule of 3 days per week.
• Work Hours: Range anywhere from approximately 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• This is a part-time position where you can work a maximum of 28 hours per week.
