Job Overview We are currently seeking a Composites Technician to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the fabrication and assembly of composite materials used in the construction of our autonomous surface vessels (ASVs). Responsibilities Fabricate composite structures and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing instructions. Perform lay-up, vacuum bagging, and curing processes for composite materials, ensuring quality and adherence to project requirements. Operate hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment, for cutting, trimming, and finishing composite parts and assemblies. Conduct quality inspections and tests on composite materials and products to verify conformance to design specifications and industry standards. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements in composite manufacturing processes. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and regulations for handling composite materials and chemicals. Document work performed, including process parameters, inspection results, and any deviations from established procedures. Assist in the development and implementation of new composite manufacturing techniques and technologies to improve efficiency and quality. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in composite fabrication preferred. Proven experience in composite manufacturing, including lay-up, vacuum bagging, and curing processes. Familiarity with composite materials, resins, and adhesives commonly used in aerospace or marine applications. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents related to composite fabrication. Proficiency in operating hand and power tools, as well as composite-specific equipment such as resin mixing systems and curing ovens. Strong attention to detail and quality standards, with the ability to produce high‑quality composite parts and assemblies. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques in composite manufacturing.
