Lox Construction is seeking a Construction Estimator to support accurate, competitive bids and help drive successful project outcomes.

Position Summary

The Construction Estimator is responsible for evaluating project requirements and preparing detailed cost estimates that support bidding, procurement, and project planning. This role requires strong analytical skills, clear communication, and the ability to translate scope and specifications into actionable pricing.

In this position, the Construction Estimator will collaborate with internal teams and vendors to gather information, ensure estimates are complete and compliant, and help guide bid strategy from initial takeoff through final submission.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents to identify cost drivers and estimate requirements.

• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop line-item estimates that accurately reflect labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

• Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring timely and competitive inputs.

• Prepare estimate summaries, bid proposals, and supporting documentation for internal review and submission.

• Participate in bid reviews and follow up on clarifications to resolve estimate assumptions and ensure accuracy.

Required Qualifications

• Experience preparing construction estimates for commercial, Government and industrial projects, including takeoffs and cost breakdowns.

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and common estimating practices.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and/or engineering drawings and project specifications.

• Proficient in organizing estimating materials and maintaining accuracy under deadlines.

• Clear communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external pricing sources.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with bid management processes and estimating workflows from solicitation through award.

• Experience estimating a range of scopes and managing assumptions, exclusions, and allowance items.

• Track record of producing accurate estimates that align closely with project outcomes.

• Comfort working with subcontractor relationships to support ongoing pricing competitiveness.

• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids concurrently.
