Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring neuro/neurosurgical experience and a ME or compact RN license.

Details

• Neuro/Ortho/Trauma unit with 26 beds
• Patient population includes neurosurgical patients (spinal surgery, spine fractures, brain tumors), seizure disorders, VP shunts, head bleeds, traumatic injuries, and joint replacement surgery
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed, including a 25-mile float policy between facilities
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active ME or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Neuro/neurosurgical experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• AHA certifications must be completed prior to start if not already held
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required

• Provide direct patient care on a busy neurosurgical/ortho/trauma unit
• Team environment that values a proactive, positive attitude
• Scrubs of any color permitted; professional appearance required at all times
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and not eligible for renewals or extensions
• RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
• First-time travelers may be considered
